Easter time 2002, I was out shopping for the kids' basket and egg hunt when I get a call on the cell phone from a local shelter. Confused, I finally figured out that to keep the kids busy, Bill took the kids there for something to do as we had done so many times. Only this time, he found one that had his heart. The shelter just wanted to make sure that I would be willing to welcome this 4yr old, 90lb Golden Retriever into my heart as well. When I got home, everyone was so happy to introduce me to the new family member and here was this big oaf that was all matted, stinking and couldn't get out of his own way. Lucky Mom got bath and clean up detail like she knew she would. This big guy was so excited and loving the attention he was a beast to deal with. He stayed that way too. Forever a big puppy. We tried to change his name, but it suited him- our big ol' Klem. At nearly 12 yrs old, we had to say good bye to the "first kid" Bill and I had together. It's been a rough couple weeks, but it was time
We love you Klemmie............
